It has been a great delight to have finally uncovered the treasure trove of collected history that has accumulated within the Mission over the past century. Over time, artefacts left, delivered, offered, bequeathed, donated and posted have been taken under the protection of the Mission and have settled under time and dust quietly building a fabulous time capsule of wonderful human life and activity of all things seafaring.
This abundant cornucopia contains letters, artefacts, memoirs, items, photographs, amongst thousands of items stored in the archives of the mission. With new items arriving regularly.
We are slowly digitally recording each and every item for posterity.
Here is the start, a virtual gallery of memorabilia for your interest and curiosity:
We thank the Victorian Collections program for its invaluable assistance in chronicling these items.
