The Artisans’ Guild Australia covers a wide variety of different crafts which have a long history. Some are practised in their traditional forms, others by way of restoration; while a number have a contemporary aspect and/or reinterpretation.
Members share the common characteristics of practising skilled work developed as a career and pursuing it with an attitude of integrity and excellence.
Artisans’ Guild Australia provides a supportive environment for pursuing these aims and members are always keen to share their knowledge united in the desire to keep skilled crafts alive and relevant both for today and for the future.
Holding this skills display event in the space where some of the Artisans have been working to restore the Mission to its former glory.
Walking in to the Mission you will be able see the all of the renovated spaces, that have been hidden behind the scaffolding for many months. There are opportunities to talk to skilled artisans about their work and maybe even try your hand. Gilding, stain glass making, all sorts of hands on experiences.
Grab a coffee or a drink, something to eat and relax in the Heritage Garden or sunny courtyard before embarking on a guided tour or a self guided wander around the building complex.
The many rooms will host their own experiences, and you can discover all of this without booking, and all for a gold coin donation.
